UCD Awards Night 13th November 2018

Congratulations to Brian Burke a past pupil of De La Salle college who received  an entrance scholarship award from UCD based on his outstanding Leaving Certificate results. Brian is currently studying Engineering in UCD. Congratulations to Brian from all the staff in De La Salle on this great achievement.

We are delighted to celebrate our 6th Year Graduation Mass this evening at 7 p.m. in St. Joseph and Benildus Church.
Join us as we mark this important milestone together, followed by refreshments in the parish centre. 
We can’t wait to celebrate with you all.

From designing it, gathering memories and photos, and helping bring it all together, they created something really special for the Class of 2026.

Yesterday was a brilliant day of golf in Faithlegg Yesterday was a brilliant day of golf in Faithlegg Golf Club as students from across De La Salle College took part in the inaugural Br Kilian De La Salle Golf Championship.

A huge congratulations to 5th Year student Lucas O’Neill, who was crowned Champion Golfer after a dramatic playoff victory. Lucas shot an outstanding round of 2 over par 74 and eventually claimed the title on the 3rd playoff hole after a brilliant contest.

Congratulations also to 3rd Year student Paul Casey, who won the Stableford competition with an excellent score of 43 points.

It was fantastic to see such a strong turnout and great spirit throughout the day. The standard of golf on display was exceptional and the boys represented De La Salle College superbly both on and off the course.

The competition is named in honour of Brother Kilian, who did fantastic work for golf in the school for many years. It is hoped that this inaugural event is the beginning of bigger things to come for golf in De La Salle College in the years ahead.

A sincere thank you to Faithlegg Golf Club for their hospitality and support in helping make the day such a success.

⛳ On Monday, we’re proud to celebrate the inaugural Brother Killian De La Salle Golf Championship – best of luck to all involved. 

🎤 Our Summer Concert also takes place on Monday night at 7:30pm in the College Chapel – it’s always a highlight, and we can’t wait to see you there. 

🌟 Our TY students are in for an action-packed start to the week:⚡ Monday – a trip to Activate🌊 Tuesday – heading to Dunmore Adventure Centre for some fun, followed by a BBQ and football tournament on Wednesday 🍔⚽

🙏 On Wednesday evening at 7pm, we celebrate our Sixth Year Graduation Mass in St Joseph's & Benildus – a very special milestone.

✨ Then on Thursday evening, we gather again for our  Transition Year Graduation in the College Chapel at 7pm.

It’s going to be a busy, exciting, and memorable week for everyone involved – best of luck to all and enjoy every minute.💫

Cian took on the role of Saint John Baptiste De La Salle, Ms Forsey played Sister Louise, and Ms Walsh guided us as narrator. Their performance was a fantastic way to begin our De La Salle Day Mass celebration.
A big well done as well to Trixthan Obici, who presented a painting of Our Lady for our mass.

Four lucky 6th year students visited the National Four lucky 6th year students visited the National Institute for Bioprocessing Research and Training (NIBRT) in Dublin to explore bioprocessing careers. Past pupil and PhD candidate, Alex Stotskyy, led a very comprehensive tour of the NIBRT facilities, including the training and research labs. David, Shreyaj, Eesaan and Mikhail enjoyed a wonderful day exploring career pathways in this exciting area of science. A huge thanks to Laura, Robert, Magda, Diogo and all the scientists in NIBRT for giving so generously of their time. A special thanks to Alex for the invitation to NIBRT, and the time and effort made for our students - it was a pleasure to spend the day in his company.

Staff and students thoroughly enjoyed a fantastic celebration of cultures from around the world. The variety of food, drinks, sports, music, traditions and general knowledge on display was phenomenal and created such a vibrant atmosphere throughout the school.

A huge well done to everyone who took part and proudly represented their cultures and countries. We as a staff are so proud of you all. 👏

Celebrating Culture Day during Founders Week made the occasion even more special, highlighting the strength of our inclusive La Sallian ethos and the sense of belonging that exists throughout our school community.

We are delighted that 12 of our EU Studies student We are delighted that 12 of our EU Studies students had the opportunity to attend the “Preparing for Ireland’s Presidency of the EU – Young Peoples’ Perspectives” last week. This event in Kilkenny, was organised by MEP Billy Kelleher.

Students joined schools from across the South East to discuss important EU issues that directly affect young people and ensure their voices are heard at European level. 
We are incredibly proud of the praise our students received for their engagement, participation and excellent manner throughout the event. A fantastic experience for all involved!
2PO and 2DMG enjoyed a trip to Vinegar Hill and th 2PO and 2DMG enjoyed a trip to Vinegar Hill and the 1798 Rebellion Centre today as part of their history studies. A great day was had by all.
Our 5th Year students had a fantastic day visiting Our 5th Year students had a fantastic day visiting UCC for a campus tour and information talks. They learned about the wide variety of courses available, entry requirements, student supports, career/ employment opportunities and the different pathways into courses.

Students explored the beautiful main campus, visited the impressive sports facilities, and got to see the famous UCC Boole Library while learning about the rich history of UCC. It was a great opportunity for students to experience campus life and ask plenty of questions about university study.

A huge thank you to Maggie in UCC for giving our students this wonderful opportunity.

The boys had an amazing time, full of energy, fun, and plenty of laughs — a well-deserved day out after all their hard work this year. It was a brilliant way to start wrapping up the school year on such a positive note.

Our YSVP visited all first year classes and gave a presentation on one of the core principles of DLS “ Concern for the poor and social justice”. These inspiring students shared their experiences of their past year in SVP. 
Both teachers and students found their presentation informative and educational!
