A mixed day for basketball in De La Salle. A huge A mixed day for basketball in De La Salle.

A huge well done to the 2nd Years on their excellent 64–24 win over CTI Clonmel. James Burke led the way with 28 points, while Bobby Flynn knocked down three three-pointers in a row to stretch the lead. It was also great to see James Flynn line out alongside his brother for the 2nd Years in a strong all-round team performance.

Commiserations to the First Years on their result, but well done to the lads for the effort and commitment shown. Best of luck on Friday when they face St Peter’s College Wexford.

A huge thank you as well to the TYs for their assistance and support on the day — it’s greatly appreciated.
🎨✨ Inclusion: Every Voice. Every Story. ✨🎭

What does inclusion mean to you?

We invite students to express their ideas, experiences, and creativity in our Inclusion Competition—a celebration of diversity, belonging, and respect.

Students can submit original artwork, poetry, short stories, songs, music compositions, or dance videos that explore the theme of Inclusion. Your piece might reflect friendship, understanding, culture, identity, accessibility, kindness, or standing up for others. There’s no single right interpretation—your voice and creativity are what matter most.

This is your chance to be heard, be seen, and be creative. Whether your work is bold or quiet, joyful or thoughtful, every entry helps tell the story of a school where everyone belongs.

📌 Who can enter: All students
🎶 Formats accepted: Visual art, writing, music, and dance
💡 Theme: Inclusion
🌈 Message: Different is powerful. Together is stronger.

Let your creativity lead the way—and help us show what inclusion looks, sounds, and feels like.

Entries can be emailed to jfowler@delasallewaterford.ie by Thursday 12th March.

🎯 Track Your Targets. Improve Your Game. Along 🎯 Track Your Targets. Improve Your Game.

Alongside our whole-school February focus on proofreading, students are encouraged to set personal improvement targets based on their own reflections after the mock exams.

For 6th Years and 3rd Years, this is a chance to think about:
✔ What went well in the mocks
✔ Where they felt unsure
✔ Topics or skills to revise over midterm

Just like tracking stats in sport or gaming, improvement starts with:
📊 Honest reflection
📌 Clear, realistic targets
🔁 Focused practice

👉 Parent support:
Over midterm break, support your son to:

Talk through what they felt went well

Identify one or two areas to focus on

Link targets to habits like proofreading

Reflection now leads to progress later. 💪📚

🧠 Feedback = Your Game Plan This February, whi 🧠 Feedback = Your Game Plan

This February, while our whole-school focus is proofreading, students are also encouraged to reflect on their own feedback and set personal improvement targets.

Especially after recent tests and mock exams, students should ask:
✔ What are my weak spots?
✔ What am I confident with?
✔ What are my next moves?

📘 Proofreading is one key habit — but improvement comes from using feedback well across all subjects.

👉 Parents can help by asking:

What feedback did you get?

What’s one thing to improve next?

How will you work on it over midterm?

Small targets. Clear focus. Real progress. 💪📚
