Our First Years are off on their big adventure! 🎢✨
They set off from school at 10pm last night, full of excitement, and landed in Manchester ready to go! No time to waste though—today they jumped straight into a fun-filled day of thrills and laughter at Alton Towers, all under glorious sunshine ☀️
This evening, the fun continued with a trip to the ever-popular Trafford Centre 🛍️🍔
Wishing them all a fantastic break—packed with memories, laughter, and just the right amount of adventure! And after a day like today, we’ve no doubt they’ll all sleep well tonight ahead of whatever excitement tomorrow brings 😴💫

From soaking up the sights on a stunning boat tour to exploring the city’s rich history on a cultural walking tour, every moment was packed with adventure. We cycled along the beautiful seafront, felt the adrenaline at , and stepped into football history with a tour of . ⚽🎢
Evenings were spent enjoying the lively atmosphere of , with plenty of time for shopping and making memories with friends. 🛍️🌅
A fantastic trip from start to finish — full of laughs, sunshine, and unforgettable experiences. Safe to say, everyone had an amazing time. 💛✈️

SVP Youth Day Our Young St Vincent De Paul Confere SVP Youth Day
Our Young St Vincent De Paul Conference of DLS College attended  the annual SVP Youth Day in SETU Sports Arena on Thursday 23rd April.
It was hosted and organised by Debbie O Donohue, Development Officer. She been a great help and guide. 
23 schools attended this fantastic event.
Each school show cased their involvement in the SVP conference in their schools and in their local communities.
They shared their experiences, challenges and the impact SVP has made on their lives and the lives of others.
The theme of this Day was “ Better Together”.
SVP representatives both regional and national were in attendance.
The day consisted of interactive activities, testimonies and presentations.
4 of our former SVP s from last year were helping the running of this event.
Josh Paul, Eamonn Connolly, Joshua Peelo Whelan and Benas Leonavicius were absolutely brilliant in the smooth running of this tremendous event.
This year’s Conference 2025-2026 was the biggest Conference from all the schools.
They did us proud.
A brilliant presentation given by Ezzar,Jack and Ashley.
Music  Key board LukeBrown  Sung By Darragh O Shea  and helped along with by full Conference and the Audience of over 400 students raised the roof in song.. 
DLS SVP got a roaring applause .
They did themselves proud and they did De La Salle proud.
The DLS SVP Conference have been very active all year, involved in areas/projects such as Befriending, Education,Social and Justice Awareness and Direct Aid (fund Raising).
Debbie has visited the College and delivered a series of Workshops. She been a great help and guide. 
The students of this Conference have worked very well together, helping each other and supporting each other… Better together.

This year has been a learning curve and an exceptional journey for these students .
Well done to each and every one. They are true Ambassadors of De La Salle College.

Our TY students are continuing to make unforgettable memories on their trip to Barcelona 🇪🇸, while closer to home, our first-year students are gearing up for their Manchester adventure this Friday ✈️

It’s also an important time academically, with Junior Cycle Home Economics practical exams in full swing and our LCA1 students taking on their task interviews — best of luck to everyone involved. 

On the extracurricular front, we’re looking forward to the annual Gort hurling tournament 🏑 and celebrating innovation at the SETU Computer Science Awards 💻🏆

There truly is something for everyone this week — a great mix of learning, sport, and new experiences. Wishing all our students the very best in their exams and activities.

Breda gave an excellent overview of the wide range of SETU Business courses, including work placement, study abroad opportunities, business start-up supports, the Career Path Points Scheme, student projects, and what college life looks like.

Congratulations to our 30 boys who competed in the Congratulations to our 30 boys who competed in the Waterford Schools Track and Field held in the RSC on last Wednesday. Especially well done to the minor boys, Aaron Hartery who came 2nd in the 1500m. Bobby Reid and Nathanael Louki who came 2nd and 3rd in the 200m.

 In the Junior boys well done to Colm Fortune who came 3rd in the 800m.

In the Inter boys well done to Anton Ciobanu who came 2nd in the Long jump. 

In the Senior boys Ronan Ryan came a close second in the 1500m and Shane Wall came 2nd in the 100m and 3rd in the 400m. The lads came 3rd in the relay.
Well done to everyone on their great performance.
