Feedback might say:

“Your answers are too short”

“You need to give examples”

“Explain how the example links to your point”

✅ Your Improvement Target: Use P.I.E

P – Point: Make a clear point

I – Illustrate: Give an example or evidence

E – Explain: Show how your example answers the question

Some subjects may use similar formats like PQE or PEE!

👨‍👩‍👦 Parent tip: Ask, “Have you made a point, given an example, and explained it?”

📝 Pro Tip: Pop this target in your yellow Feedback Tracker pages – a small step to stronger, more detailed answers. 💪

Our amazing TY Sustainability Teams were out bright and early this morning, braving the crisp winter air for a community litter pick as part of the Waterford County Council Litter Challenge 2025. 💪🌍

Armed with bags, grabbers, and plenty of good humour, they helped keep our local area clean and beautiful — and showed what active citizenship really looks like. 👏💚

✨ What a night for our Senior Choir ✨ On Satu ✨ What a night for our Senior Choir ✨

On Saturday 29th November, our singers were thrilled to take to the stunning Cathedral stage as part of the Ad Hoc & Friends Christmas Concert. With some of Waterford’s finest choral talent gathered under one roof, it was a huge honour for De La Salle to be the only secondary school invited to perform. 💚🎶

Well done to our 6th year student Max Philpott, who not only led the choir but also conducted them on the night — and what a job he did! 👏🔥 The group delivered beautiful performances of two Brother Ben–arranged pieces: Stille Nacht and Bui Doi, earning well-deserved applause from the full house.

BUG the Question SSE Target: Get more from feedba BUG the Question

SSE Target: Get more from feedback! Use your Feedback Tracker (yellow pages in your journal) to set improvement goals based on the feedback you receive.

💡 Why it helps:
Sometimes feedback says things like:

“You misread the question”

“Not all parts are answered”

“Key details are missing”

✅ Your Improvement Target: BUG the Question (check your journal for this tip!)

B – Box the command words (explain, describe, compare…)

U – Underline the key details

G – Go back and reread the question

👨‍👩‍👦 Parent tip: Ask, “Did you BUG the question before answering?” or “Which command word did you box?”

📝 Pro Tip: Write this target in your yellow Feedback Tracker pages so you can see your progress and feel proud of improvements!

Keep going – small steps like BUG make a big difference! 🚀

Noah had an unforgettable weekend as he captained the Munster squad to victory in the FAI Schools U18 Boys Interprovincial Tournament! 🏆🔥

We’re incredibly proud of Noah and the entire Munster team, including past pupil Bobby Keohan, who played a brilliant role throughout the tournament. 🙌🔴

Well done, lads — what an achievement! 🎉👏

🖤🛍️ FEEDBACK FRIDAY – Your Weekly 10-Min 🖤🛍️ FEEDBACK FRIDAY – Your Weekly 10-Minute Check-In!
Because the best deals aren’t in the shops… they’re in your child’s learning. 😉

This Feedback Friday, we’re encouraging parents/guardians to take just 10 minutes to chat with your son about how his week went — what went well, what was challenging, and what small steps he can take next.

📒 Head to the YELLOW pages in his school journal (the Feedback Tracker section) and set one or two simple, achievable improvement targets together.
Think:
✔ Revise one topic
✔ Practise a diagram
✔ Improve homework organisation
✔ Focus on one skill for the next test

Why it works:
✨ Simple targets
✨ Consistency
✨ Shared accountability
✨ A supportive parent–student partnership
✨ A clearer understanding of strengths and areas to improve

Small weekly check-ins build confidence, improve understanding, and help students take ownership of their progress — one target at a time.

🖤 This Feedback Friday, invest 10 minutes in your son’s learning journey. It’s the best value of the week.
