Scifest Success

Congratulations to all our students that competed in SciFest in WIT. Over 100 projects competed in SciFest in WIT this year, and it was a very successful day for De La Salle College as all of our projects were awarded prizes.

Jordan Casey, Eoin Mullally, Ciaran Scanlan and Kieran Organ received highly commended awards for their projects.

Craig McAuliffe, Darragh Quinn and Cian Kehoe won the SEAI Sustainable Energy award for their solar-powered water producing backpack. These students now go forward to compete at the national SciFest finals later in the year.

Well done to all involved. The students' hard work and dedication paid off!

Well done to our first years that attended the Salter's Festival of Chemistry in UCC last week. Aaron Ryan, Diarmuid Sheehan, Gleb Brucikovs and Repath Khan got a wonderful opportunity to work in 3rd level labs and performed very well in the practical challenges set by the Salter's Institute and UCC. Well done to all involved.
Below find photos of Darragh Quinn and Craig Mc Auliffe receiving the SEAI Sustainable Energy award (won at SciFest) from Dr Sheila Donegan, WIT. Missing from photo is Cian Kehoe.

As part of the Religion module Ty 1 travelled to Glendalough Co Wicklow to conduct their 'Ritual Event'. The weather and scenery was fantastic and a great day was had by all.
